Minterest Level 3.0

I see three Levels whenever I think of my blogging journey on Minterest.

Level 1.0 was the beginning phase (2006-2012) and it was apparently my learning phase too because Minterest was my first WordPress blog and it started as a personal finance journal.

And then I started getting very obsessed with writing and spent many, many hours to compose a single blog post and that was Level 2.0 for me which lasted until 2015.

That was the time when I started experimenting different blogging strategies and blog post types and design elements and many, many, micro things that’s in one way or the other related to blogging.

I loved that blogging phase. Totally!

And what about Level 3.0? Well, that phase is happening right now. I haven’t totally figured it out yet. All I know is that it’s time to rethink about blogging and blogging strategies.

Or, rather it’s time to ask myself what blogging means to me. To decide whether it’s the only thing that I want to do or whether it’s just a hobby (as it is now) or whether it’s a business or whether it’s a startup or whatever.

Because it’s all possible. Seriously.

So I started thinking about it. However, I didn’t get any answers yet. Except that I know I want to scale up my blog and take it to its next level (Level 3.0, eh?).

When I recently received the StudioPress Newsletter they featured the theme Smart Passive Income Pro as one of their best-selling themes and I liked it instantly.

You know why? Because it perfectly matched my previous blog design and layout and which means very little effort and changes are required to complete the theme makeover.

Plus, it also supports a Widget based homepage so that I could use it to showcase services or products or anything that’s got something to do with “selling”.

It’s been 3+ years since I changed the design of my blog before I moved to the Genesis Framework. Since then I never thought about changing a design as I already spent a ton of of time customizing the current design — all these years.

And now I start feeling like this is the perfect time to do a makeover and take the blog to its Level 3.0.

Or else I will continue to spend a ton of time writing, editing, formatting, designing, and customizing a personal blog. It’s time for me to add some steroids to Minterest. But how? Well again, I don’t know exactly but here are few things that I want to do and can do:

Level 3.0: What I Want To Do

  1. Start writing daily. Something.
  2. Start creating content with a strategy.
  3. Start publishing blog posts — in a consistent way.
  4. Start creating in-depth blog posts. Again.
  5. Start outsourcing a part of my content creation process.
  6. Start writing useful affiliate reviews. Again.
  7. Start repurposing content.
  8. Start attracting more traffic via paid traffic sources.
  9. Start social media marketing.
  10. Start blog/WordPress consulting.
  11. Start offering WordPress packages and services.
  12. Start email marketing.
  13. Start screencasting/podcasting.

I’m not so keen to start blogging in a professional way and call myself a professional blogger. It sucks! That said, I want to write as much as I can and as long as I can and as often as I can — about all the things that excites me.

It’s also true that I can’t blog at the same pace that I used to do during Level 2.0 as I really need to move on. Or, it’s time to ask myself whether blogging is the only thing that I want to do or whether it’s my ultimate passion. The answer is a big NO.

And this reminds me of a powerful quote by Steve Jobs:

“When I was 17, I read a quote that went something like: ‘If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you’ll most certainly be right.’ It made an impression on me, and since then, for the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: “If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?” And whenever the answer has been “No” for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.” — Steve Jobs

Almost my entire life I was doing random things and never focused on any one particular thing. Of course I love being multi-passionate but now I feel it’s time to rethink.

So what is blogging to you? :)
