WordPress for iOS

WordPress by Automattic is the official app for managing your WordPress.com and self-hosted WordPress blogs. WordPress app for iOS is designed for both iPhone and iPad and hence is compatible with iPhone, iPad, iPad mini, and iPod touch.

You can manage multiple blogs using this app and can enable push notifications for each notification type and can select which blogs you want to receive notifications on the Settings panel.

With WordPress for iOS, you can moderate comments, create or edit posts and pages, view stats, and add images or videos with ease.

Sometimes official apps may not be our preferred choice, so if you’re looking for alternate WordPress apps for your iPhone or iPad then I’ve shortlisted the top 5 of them. All the apps are premium and are designed for the iPad or for both iPhone and iPad.

Drag and drop an article’s URL to create a hyperlink instantly and you can do the same for images and videos from Flickr, Picasa, Facebook, Instagram, Google Image Search, YouTube and Vimeo. It supports local drafts and you can create scheduled posts, online drafts, pending-review posts, and much more.

3. BlogPad Pro (for iPad) – $4.99

BlogPad Pro is a fully-featured WordPress app to manage all your WordPress blogs from your iPad. You can blog online or offline and only have to sync changes when you’re done. It’s got auto save and conflict management features to ensure that you won’t lose your date  and comes with the best visual editor (WYSIWYG). Other key features include: Dropbox integration, reader, preview posts (online or offline), word count, HTML mode, tables, etc.

4. PressSync Pro (for iPhone and iPad) – $4.99

PressSync Pro

PressSync Pro is designed for iPhone and iPad and it supports WordPress.com and WordPress.org. Some of the key features include: a simple design, HTML input support, categories and tags management, lists view that displays the basic information (title, date, post status, author, categories, tags) of a blog post. You can try the free version of PressSync before upgrading to Pro.

5. Prose (for iPad) – $2.99

Prose

Prose is designed for the iPad and has got a user friendly editor. It supports WordPress (WordPress.com and self-hosted WordPress.org) and Blogger.com blogs. It has the features of a word processor and you can easily add images using the photo browser. You can manage multiple blogs at the same time and even work offline.
